Pixel Lab Safe mode: nothing leaves the browser

A Chrome extension for anyone who ships tracking

See what every pixel sends before it goes live.

Open it on any website and it shows, in plain English, which ad platforms are collecting data, what they're sending, and what's broken. Then test new pixel code on that page without sending a single real event.

Three jobs, one panel

Each one answers a question people currently answer by guessing, or by waiting for a report to look wrong.

Test

Will this pixel work on this site?

Paste the code an agency or platform gave you, or start from a template. Pixel Lab fills the IDs into labelled fields, runs the code on the real page and reads back exactly what it sent. In Safe mode the data is caught at the browser's edge and never reaches the platform.

It worksTikTok did what it should. Nothing left your browser.
A test result: It works, with a chart showing the test's TikTok events and a card listing the Pageview event and pixel ID
Visit

Does the ad click survive to the purchase?

Record a visit from an ad link through to checkout. Pixel Lab tracks click IDs like gclid and UTMs across every page and redirect, and names the exact hop where attribution breaks. Then run the corrected link and show the before and after.

301 redirect stripped gclid, utm_source, utm_campaignThe landing page never saw them. No tag can recover them.

Consent

When a visitor says no, does tracking stop?

Reload the page as someone who rejected cookies, allowed analytics only, or sent a Global Privacy Control signal. Pixel Lab shows which platforms respected the choice and which collected data anyway, and flags personal data sent without hashing.

Pinterest sent data anyway (3 times)The visitor said no. Pinterest ignores Google's consent signals, so the banner must hold it back.

Leadership

Fewer silent losses

"Why doesn't ROAS match what the platform says?"

Broken redirects and pixels that never fire are found in minutes, before spend goes out, not weeks later in a reconciliation.

Clients

Proof, not promises

"How do we know it's installed right?"

Hand over a before/after journey and a plain-English summary their developer can act on. No access to their tag manager required.

Our team

QA without the install

"Can I try this code on staging first?"

A saved pixel library that runs on any domain, Auto-run to simulate a full install, and the same app in the side panel or DevTools.

Legal & compliance

Evidence for a review

"Does a 'Reject all' actually stop anything?"

Consent tests per visitor type, unhashed personal data flagged by field, and a history of every test to attach to a ticket.

Private beta

Want it for your team? Ask me for access.

Pixel Lab isn't on the Chrome Web Store. I'm giving it to a small group of marketers, agencies and privacy teams who ship tracking and want proof it behaves. Send me a DM on LinkedIn with a line about what you'd use it for, and I'll set you up with a walkthrough.

  1. Now: open it on your own site and see every platform collecting data, live.
  2. Consent: visit as someone who said no, and see who sent data anyway, with the proof.
  3. Visit: follow an ad click to the purchase and find the hop where attribution breaks.
  4. Test: try new pixel code in Safe mode before anyone installs it.

How it stays safe

  • Safe mode blocks outbound tracking for the tab at the browser level. The code runs, the data is recorded, and nothing is delivered.
  • Everything is stored locally in the browser. No server, no account, no telemetry.
  • Imported pixels must be reviewed before they can run.

What it isn't

Pixel Lab shows what a page did in one browser, with one consent choice, at one moment. That's evidence for a review, not a legal opinion or a certification that a site is compliant. Confirm Live results in each platform's own tools, such as Meta Test Events or GA4 DebugView.
